Change B2 entry status to L1Blanket

Hi,
Currently I have valid B1/B2 visa and a valid L1 Blanket visa.
My question - I am entering USA on B2 visa for vacation. During entry into US I will use my B2 visa. I want to know if I can get into a project (to work) without exiting and re-entering US to work? Or can I change my status to L1B even though I entered with my B2 visa?

It is technically possible. Your employer will have to file a petition with change of status. However, such change of status from B is discouraged by USCIS. Also, you cannot begin working before change of status gets approved.
Since you already have an L1 Visa, easier option will be to leave the US (even for Canada or Mexico) and return in L1 status to start working.

Also, you can only work for the employer who filed for your L1 in the first place. You cannot transfer the L1 to another company like one can do for H1s. This is my opinion please do seek expert opinion too.
