L2 Visa Extention based on I94 date

Hi All,

I am in US and my Blanket L1 Visa will expire this year in June-2012 but I have the I-94 validity till Oct-2014.

My family is currently in India and their L2 visa will also get expired in June-2012.

My Query is:
My family can come to US in August only but at that time their L2 visa will get expired.
Can I extend their L2 visa based on my I-94 date? If not, then is their other way?

Please suggest.

L2 Visa Extention based on I94 date

Visa is authority to enter US and I-94 is authority to stay . As your family's visa is expiring June-2012 they would not be allowed to enter after visa expiry. Since L2 is a dependent visa on primary L1, their L2 can only be extended if your L1 is extended . If you file for L1 extension you would most probably need to go back to the consulate in India for stamping.One can extend I-94 based on visa but I don't think there is an option of extending ones visa base don I94. This is my opinion please do seek immigrations expert opinion too.
