  • Change Employer on L1B

I got a L1B visa in June 2011 and the company I am working for is going to be adquired by a new investor. What is going to happen with my visa status? Should I need to report this issue to the USCIS? Can I keep the same visa status or it need to be changed to H1B?

I apreciate Your comments. Thank you

    Change Employer on L1B

Many times just the change of investor doesn't change the underlying org structure or the business. If you are not under any risk of losing your job, I think you should be fine. If there is substantial change in the org structure and the tie up with overseas company subsidiary which filed your L1 initially then there may be need to file amended I129. best place to start would be with your HR and ask what would need to be done. This is my opinion, please do consult expert opinions too.
