  • L2 Visa Processing - Marrital Status

    Hi,

During the time of my stamping I mentioned Marital Status as single as I was not having Marriage Certificate with me at that point of time.

I got my mariage certificate after my stamping was done. It reflectes the original marriage date and date of appearance for registering it the date after my stamping date.

So my DS-160 reflects the Status as Single.

Now I initiated the L2 Visa processing for my Spouse.

So is there a chance that it'll be rejected based on my DS-160 marital status which is Single?

Please let me know how to change my marital status to Married in DS-160.

    Regards,
    Biswa

L2 Visa Processing - Marrital Status

Not having marriage certificate is no reason to call oneself single. I dont think I129 has marital status in it, neither does it state on the Visa or I797. During her L2 interview she would not have to carry your DS-160, so I think you are good. She would have to carry the marriage certificate as well as have your name in her passport also make sure she carries other relevant documents. This is based on my personal opinion, please do seek expert and legal opinion too.
