I had my old L1-b visa issued on June 9th 2008 valid until May 18th 2011. But I travelled using that visa on August 8th 2009 and stayed until December 10th 2011. I had to stay at US even after my visa got expired on may as my extension petition was filed and was under processing. But unfortunately my extension got rejected on November 23 2011and I left US on December 10th 2011 which was my last day in my old visa. My employer filed a new L1b visa petition and it got approved and my visa was stamped too. But the time duration they have provided is only 2 years I.e 23rd jan 2012 to 27 feb 2014. When I calculated the time duration I spent on my previous visa it's only 2 years 3 months I had spent and adding to the new visa which is provided for 2 years , it comes only to 4 years 3 months. My question is whether I would be able to apply for a extension after this 2 years got over to accrue the remaining 7 months or if I convert my l1 to h1 will it be added to that visa ? Kindly clarify
