  • I-94 expires earlier than L1B visa

When I came to US first time, CBP officer set I-94 expiry date to May, 2012, whilst my L1B visa expires in July, 2012, and my blanket petition is valid until May, 2013. Means, instead of 3 years I got only 1.5 years.

Is there any chance that I could claim this as "Error at Port of Entry" and change the date in I-94 according to my blanket petition? I checked CBP's manual and it says that blanket L1 holders should be allowed for 3 years.

Has anyone had these problems before? Any advices?

    Thanks.

Nothing is guaranteed, 3 years is only a maximum. The most common reason for shorter I-94 is expiring passport. When is your passport expiring? If that is not the case or if you have got your passport renewed, try visiting a nearby CBP deferred inspection at an international airport. They may correct the I-94 for you. If not you can either travel and return to get a new I-94 or your employer can file an extension.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
