L2 to H1 conversion and other details

Hi All,

I'm in L1 B visa (valid until Aug 2013) in US(also have B1 till 2016) and have project till June, 2012. My wife has L2 with EAD and has job and her employer has planned to file H1.

If I quit job in Jun 2012 can me and my wife stay in US till I94 expires?
Can my wife still work even if I quit?
Will wife's L2 be revoked when I (L1 visa holder) leave from US?

Please let me know.

>>> No. You both will go out of status on L1. When you are in L1 status, you should be working and getting paid to maintain your L1 status.

Can my wife still work even if I quit?
>>> No. If you quit, you are no longer in L1 status. L2 is based on your maintaining your L1 status and when you go out of status so does your dependents and she cannot work.

Will wife's L2 be revoked when I (L1 visa holder) leave from US?
>>> There is no L2 without L1. Her visa will remain valid. But she will no longer be in L2 status and she will go completely out of status on L2. She cannot stay or work in U.S without the L1 holder maintaining the L1 status.
