  • L1 and L2 queryH

    Hi All,

My company is submitting a L1 application for me. They are also submitting L2 along with L1 for my wife.

I am worrying on two aspects:
    1. My passport does not my spouse name printed on that. I am primary applicant (L1). However I do have Marriage certificate and my wife do have my name printed as spouse on her passport.
Is it mandate to have both L1 and L2 applicants passport to reflect spouse name?

    2. I have B1 also issue from long time but never travel, can it be problem as there is a visa but no travel history. My passport is also due-for-expiry in next 25 months.

As these days i heard many rejection cases, can someone please provide their views/suggestion, if above can be reason for rejection.

    Thank you in advance.

    >>> This is not an issue. Marriage certificate is what is important.

    >>> This is not an issue. It is not mandatory to travel just because you got the visa stamped.

Thanks Shervin for your super-fast reply.

One more question: I was going through the links online and i found that it is mention that passport must be valid for 6 months more than Visa validity.

My passport is due-for-expiry in another 25 months (~2 years), does that mean, i'll get visa valid only for 1.5 years?

      Please suggest.

      Thanks,
      Eman

No. Visa will be issued as per your petition expiry date. Only if the passport validity for less than 6 months, they tend to issue the visa till the passport expiry date. Indian passports can be renewed only 1 year before the expiry date and the U.S consulate is well aware of this. So this isn't an issue.
