L2 Visa - Queries

Hi,
I have couple of queries regarding L2 visa. Appreciate your help on this.

1) I will be travelling to India from US for may marriage.I will be staying there for 3 weeks and I will be spending jus 2 weeks after marriage. Is it possible to apply and get the L2 visa in this time period? Are there any other possibilities? Can I book a slot for Personal appearance in Advance even before my marriage. If so, how can this be done? Should I check with my employer?

2)Im on L1B. Should L2 visa be applied only through employer? Can this be applied independently ? Also please let me know the cost involved?

>>> Yes. Yuo can book the interview slot for both L1/L2 together before the marriage. Mention in DS160 that you married. You can attend the interview only after the marriage with a marriage certificate in hand.
