L1-A Rejected under section 221(g) - Need Help

I attended VISA interview under Blanket L1 Petition in category “A” on 14th March 2012 in Chennai VFS office which was refused and I got 221(g) blue from.
I have been working with Petitioner Company from last 8 years and I’m working as a manger from last one year.
The Visa officer told me that managerial experience of one year is not enough for L1 visa under category “A” and asked me to come back with L1-B petition instead of L1-A petition.

VO Issued 221(g) blue form with status
Your blanket L-1 application is not clearly approvable under section 8 CFR 214.2(I) (II)(D) and INA 101(a)(15)(L)

Can you please clarify me about my below question

If I get a Blanket L1 petition in category “B” can I visit Chennai with family and attend the consulate interview without any appointments.

No, your L1A is rejected. If you want to apply L1B, then you need to book a different visa interview slot (Fill new DS160s for you and your family), pay the visa fees and follow all the visa interview process again.
