PA appearance at Chennai Consulate with I-797A

I am currently in the US on an amended approval notice (I-797A) valid till July 2013. I am travelling to India and am planning to appear for visa interview at Chennai Consulate to obtain stamping. Is there any advantage of having an approved petition as against an I-129 blanket petition, as far as Consular decision is concerned?

Yes, with the trend of denials for blanket L1B's, individual petitions have somewhat more chance of getting Visa approved.
