  • L1 Expired but I 94 valid, Passport expiring next year

    Hi,

I am currently on L1B, with my visa expired, but I-94 valid (I got I-94 more than my visa period so could not file extension in the US). My passport expires in July 2013. I checked the consulate site and it says that the below is needed for filing. I don't have a valid visa but only valid I-94, has anyone faced such a situation and what can be done here? Your help will be highly appreciated?

" 5. Visa Status: Copy of Permanent Resident Card (both sides) or Employment authorization card or copy of page showing H1 / H4, L1/L2, J1/J2, F1/F2 etc. visa should be enclosed. If you have applied for visa extension, then such proof should be provided (in this case passport will be issued for short validity i.e. for one year period, on approval of visa status passport validity will be extended to full period). Passport facility in case of visitor visa will not be issued unless there is an emergency. "

    Thanks
