Name correction on visa

When i renewed my passport in USA, the Indian embassy ,Newyork printed my name incorrectly in my new passport.Accoingrdingly the name on the visa also printed incorrectly at the American consulate,Hyderabad.Now iam correcting my passport at Newyork Indian embassy.How do the name on visa will be corrected while i stay in Boston,USA.Pl advise.Thank you.......

The name in the passport cannot be corrected in U.S. You need to visit a U.S consulate to get the visa corrected. They will cancel the old visa and will issue you a new one with the correct name.

Why will there be a U.S consulate inside U.S? Have you seen any Indian consulate in India? A consulate of a country will only be in other countries.
