L2 extension in canada

Hi All, I have valid L1 Blanket till November 2012. I am thinking of getting the visa extension stamped in Canada early instead of filing extension in US. I have few questions with the process.

1. Can I get a visa appointment in Canada before 90 days of expiring current visa?

2. If the stamping is rejected in Canada, can I reenter US with Current visa?
