L1B to L1 - term

Hi,

I have been in US for L1B for about 4 year and will be filing for L1 A this year. Will the L1 A be granted for 5 years or a year? What is the rule on the no. of years granted?

Total years on L1 blanket / L1 individual is 5 years. Total years in L1A is 7 years. If you are applying for a change from L1 blanket / individual to L1A, then you will get 7 years minus whatever time that you have already spent in U.S in L1 blanket & L1 individual unless you spend 1 year outside U.S before filing L1A.
