I was working for company XYZ on L1-A visa. Then I quit in between and joined company ABC in India. When I had to go to US for a conference, I got a B1/B2 from company ABC and went to US. On arrival, the immigration officer wrote CWOP on my prior L1 visa which has a validity till August 2012. Now I am considering joining back company XYZ and re-using my old L1-A visa which is not yet expired. But because of CWOP, do I need to just go for a re-stamping, apply for L1 extension or would I have to apply for a fresh L1 petition all over again? Please guide.

Visa is canceled, petition is not. You will have to apply for Visa using the same petition like before.This is my opinion and not legal advice.
