is original copy of I-797 required for L2 Vis Interview?

Hello Folks,

I am in the US on L1 for last 4 months. My spouse and new born child are going for the L2 Visa interview on 26th at Kolkata US Consulate.

Since, I carried my original I-797 with me. Can my spouse appear for the interview with a photo copy of my I-797?

Has anyone gone throuh this situation and share your experience?

I am concerned because the L2 documents checklist says, they need to carry the original copy of I-797.

They need your original approval notice. There are cases where a copy of the original approval notice has worked. However, that depends on the VO. The VO can demand for the original approval notice and issue a 221g for the same.
