Applying for L2 visa; husband with L1; wife with 457 WP

Hi,

My husband and I are Indians and we currently reside in India.

My husband got his L1 visa approved and he will be traveling soon. Meanwhile my company is processing my Australian 457 WP.

My questions are -
1. Will I be able to apply for my L2 visa from Australia after a year or should I come back to India?
2. Will I have any problems getting L2 visa stamped if my husband is already in US for a year and I will be joining him only later?
3. Should my husband be physically present when I apply for L2?
