L1 visa : marriage certificate necessary ?

Hi,

My company is applying for an L1 visa for me and L2 for my wife and child.

Both our passports contain each others names as the spouse of the passport holder however i don't have any legal marriage certificate as it is being asked as a part of the required documents. However i have a copy of the regional regd certificate from the temple where the wedding was held... not sure if that can be used ?

Kindly advice do i need to still get a marriage certificate ... is it imperative ? .. also getting it so close to the actual interview, would that still be considered as valid ?

You need the original marriage certificate to get the L2 visa for your wife.

Thank you Sherwin.. i was just wondering if getting it so close to the interview (next week) will irk any questions from the officer.

..though my petition has been approved by USCIS, what is the probability of visa denial ?

what additional questions could they still ask even though they an approved petition with them ?

>>> It will only be an issue if you don't have one. Getting one issued now is not an problem. It is not a crime to collect the marriage certificate late. It is just a certificate from the government that proves your marriage and when it was actually issued is not consulate's concern.

>>> petition approval has nothing to do with visa approval. They are two different things. No one can predict your probability of getting the visa without knowing anything about you or the the company that you are working for. You need to attend the visa interview and find it for yourself.
