    No Show

If you fail to cancel your appointment prior to the interview date, you are considered a "no-show" and your receipt is de-activated for 90 days. However, if you are a genuine applicant, you may visit a VFS location with your passport and HDFC receipt, explain your position, and VFS will be able to reactivate your receipt, allowing you to then schedule a new appointment online.

As the HDFC fees was paid for old rate, which was valid for 1 year,
      1. Is it required pay the remining amount, if rate increased, if not then why cancel the interview?
      2. If interview scheduled, what is the status of HDFC receipt?
      3. If interview not scheduled, what is the status of HDFC receipt?

The fee has increased post April 12th. If you paid your visa fee before April 13, 2012, you do not have to pay the difference between the new and old fee amounts as long as your visa interview is on or before July 12, 2012. Starting July 13, 2012, you will be required to pay the difference between the old and new fee amounts. Talk to VFS helpdesk for more details on this.
