L1B visa expired, staying on valid I 94 but need to resign.

I am in US on L1 Visa. The visa has already expired and I am currently staying on my I-94 which is valid till 2013. I plan to submit my resignation and leave back home. Can I stay for 2 to 3 weeks to wrap up everything here after I have put my papers.

You are legally allowed to stay till your I-94 expiry but since you would not be getting paid a salary you will be out of status for those 2-3 Weeks. This is my opinion.
