5 years limit of Blanket L-1B

Hi,

My visa will expire in around 2017. In the mean time, I want to think in advance on what are my options to extend my stay in the US. I understand that L-1B to GC is not a good idea (as it takes this process longer time than the time that I have in the US).

So basically what are my options? should I start thinking of moving to L-1A and from there to GC?

H1B is for 6 years. It can be extened beyond the 6th year if the PERM is filed 365 days prior to the end of the 6th year.
