  • L1 Visa from Previous Company - How to know whether it is cancelled or not?

I posses L1 premium visa from company A which is valid till 07,2013. I stayed in US from Aug,2010 to Mar, 2011 & then returned to my home country. I resigned company A & joined company B. I wanted to know whether L1 from company A is still valid & not cancelled. Is it possible?

Why would you want to know? If the visa is valid in passport it is most likely active. Further, you can travel only for working for company A in US, it cannot be transferred to Company B. This is my opinion, do consult experts too.

Once you leave/resign the company thru which you have taken L1 A visa, you visa stands cancelled. Do not travel on that visa to the US, immigration may not allow entry into the country. My suggestion is that take another visa thru the new company. Moreso, if you have left your company A and still travel on their visa, US immigration may put fraud charges against you.

Thanks raghvi. I am checking as I got an offer from my previous company's US subsidiary to join their office in US. The information is not passed to it's Indian subsidiary so far. I am checking whether the Visa can be re-used if I rejoin & travel for the same company.
