  • I have L2, appying L1A now, what would be consequences?

My husband is in US on L1 Visa and I have got my L2 Visa along with me, my company is processing my L1A Visa and I would soon appear for an interview.
My question is if my L1A is not approved, can I travel on L2?
Alternatively I understand that if my L1A is approved, my L2 Visa would cancelled, is that True? and in future if I resign from my current company will I be able to get L2 again?
Please help me with the above questions!

Sometimes the Consulate cancels the L2 even before deciding on the L1/H1 applications. If that happens you will have to process L2 again in case your L1A is rejected and they cancelled your L2 too.

If your L1A is approved mostly likely the L2 will be cancelled. In future, if you are in US on L1A and you decide to resign, you would have to file a change of status - COS - from L1A to L2 before your resign. Its advisable to resign only after the approval of L2 as otherwise you might end up being out of status. This is my opinion not legal advice.
