L1B to L1A conversion and L2 EAD renewal

Hi,
My L1B visa is expiring on Sept 17 2012, my company is willing to transfer me from L1B to L1A to stay here.
My wife is also working in L2 EAD.

Please clarify following queries

1. If in normal application how long would it take to get L1A application approved/rejected. Can my wife continue work after Sept 17th until some result comes for my visa application.
2. I know in premium it would take only 2 weeks but how long it takes after that to get L2 EAD renewed.
3. How long would it take for her to renew the EAD if L1A is approved. Is it a renewal or a fresh EAD?
