On L1A visa working for two group companies

I am on L1A visa and working for the company. However I have also been asked to handle the project of another company in the same group. Will this be OK since my visa petition approval names one company itself. The other company is part of the same group with same owner. Please advise.

Consult a good immigration attorney. Same owner different companies - no one can figure out what the legal terms between the two companies are. If they are totally different entities (even though they are owned by the same person), then you working for the other company is illegal. If both the companies are merged, then it is okay. This isn't something a forum member can advice as we won't know for sure how the two companies are related legally.
