L2 Visa stamping at Chennai

Hi,

My wife will be going to US Consulate Chennai for her L2 visa stamping. We recently got married and my name is not on her passport. Can she apply for L2 visa using her old passport? we have marriage certificate with us and all other documents. Please suggest
