Visa Extension based on vacations outside USA

Hi All,

I am on L1 B Visa. My 5 years tenure visa of and I 94 expire in the month of Nov 2012. However, during these 5 years , I was outside US for a period of 5 months. Based on this, can I get an extension on my L1B visa for 5 more months?
