Reg. H1B visa for L2 Visa and L2 EAD holders

Hi,

I am here in USA on L2 visa. I have got the EAD for L2.

My visa and EAD is expiring on 31-Mar-2013. I am planning to get H1B visa.

But i heard that if i get my H1B by next April or May 2013, i can start working for my H1 emplyer, only after October 2013. Is it true?

If true then my next question. Assume i get my L2 visa extension through my spouse and getting EAD extension too. But still thinking to go for H1B by April or May.

If my H1B is approved by May or Jun, Can i continue work on L2 EAD until Oct-13 and then continue with H1 employer after that?

Assuming that you will be filing a fresh H1 then, Yes, you will be able to work only from 01-Oct-2013.

If you want to work from Mar 2013 till Oct 2013 then, yes, you will have to get L2 visa extension and EAD.
