Freelancers and contract for I visa

Hi all,
I'm a french freelance journalist working for different media organizations. I would like to go to the US for a specific story with one magazine and they will issue a contract and a letter of mission. The contract will only be for the length of the mission (10 days) ... is it enough for the us administration to consider I'm under contract ?
