    Hi Sparty,

    Any updates?

Does your case number ends with digit other than 1, more specifically 8?

    Stamping for your friend completed?

Your canadian visa stamped n for how long?

I think both efforts n fareeha stamping completed hence not visiting the blog.

    Regards

Unfortunately no updates on the US visa, I applied on Feb 4, its been 6 months and 2 weeks as of today the 18th.

I emailed them last on the 28th of July and still no response from their side.

My case number is: 2013 xxx xxx 1

As for the Canadian visa, I applied online, there is a new way were you can upload all documents and forms without having to go for an interview. I applied on July 18.

The Canadians on the other hand are on strike and its effecting all kinds of visa's.

        Alert – Strike Action

The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) union is currently taking strike action. PAFSO union members responsible for processing visa applications have been walking out of offices in Canada and overseas without warning or advance notice.

Posted processing times for both temporary and permanent resident visa applications do not take into account work stoppages. Anyone applying for a visa should anticipate delays and submit their application online as far in advance as possible.

Contingency plans are already in place to ensure all offices remain open and are providing at least a minimum level of service. Priority will be placed on urgent humanitarian applications. We continue to closely monitor the situation.

---from the Canadian embassy in the UAE website.

        No good luck at all.

Got a notification from the Canadian embassy this morning. They requested I bring/send in my passport
          And I sent it in!
Took exactly 30 days with them as compared to 6 months and 15 days with the US and counting...

              NIV application statistics

I did put up an effort to know where we stand in this long delayed AP procedures...

The day i appeared on the interview. The following happened:

Total NIV application in Dubai - 249 (100%)
              Approved same day - 128 issued (51.4%)
              AP - 106 (42.5%)
              Refused - 15 (6%)

As of today, updated figures are:

              Issued - 184 (73.8%)
AP - 49 (19.7%) 3 cases are being processed for second time in AP
Refused - 16 (6.4%) Infact, 1 case got rejected after 89 days of processing.

              Sparty…your case number is 2013 035 xxx 1?

The above is for information only. It may not be accurate.

              Regards,

                Pretty nice statistical information there.

So what can I conclude from this on terms of my case?

As I mentioned, my case number is 2013 xxx xxx 1.

Approximately half the cases are subject to AP. In the past three months only 60% AP cases are cleared and another 40% are in the same boat along with us. In the 60% cleared cases, none but one case got refused that too might be something extraordinary history, rest all were cleared.

So the conclusion is, AP is a open ended process and very hopeful. All we can do is pray, be calm and dont check updates daily which will tense us.

                  Happy waiting
