I am still under AP. I'm now closing in on 8 months.

I have a friend that applied on Dec 16 and got it on or about July 25.
I have a friend that applied on January 22 and got it on or about Sept 5.

That's about 7 months and a half.

I am hoping I'll be next in line. SUSPENSE.

Looking from 'efforts' experience and the spartys friends experience, 7 1/2 months is the most likely time around for AP conclusion.

Indian brother was waiting for H1 on white paper. It would be almost same procedure for name check, except for employer verification which was finished months ago.

Other plans means..there are lot of places in the world for tourism. Even UAE is not bad, i generally take local holidays to enjoy Dubai n other emirates

Hoping the best for u..check on ceac website regularly for any updates on your case. Is the staus update date still belongs to feb?

Hi all,
I have applied for my parents green card. They have done the interview on March 31-2013, everything was Ok, but we are still waiting for AP after more than 6 month. Is anyone waiting for immigrant (IR5) visa here?

Nope, unfortunately I am still under AP. On Nov 4 2013, I'll be 9 months.

Yesterday i emailed Dubai Consulate and informed that my case has gone over 150 days. Within an hour, i got a reply as below;


Dear Applicant,

Please be advised to submit your passport through EMPOST. You do not need to schedule an appointment or pay any fees. We ask you submit your passport with the yellow letter received from the officer during your interview.

Applicants are responsible for collection of passports from the EMPOST location they selected during registration. EMPOST is the only courier used by the U.S. Consulate. We will return your passport through this courier for pick-up as well.

We do not have access to your airway bill information. You must register online to get the necessary tracking numbers to collect your passport at EMPOST.

....i couldnt believe the above reply n checked ceac website..voila..status update date changed to 20-Oct-2013, but local consulate website still broadcast the old AP message. I tried calling the website to be sure before sending the passport but couldnt get hold of anyone, as i will be travelling to Canada on 1 Nov. If my passport gets stuck, then all my travel plans would get stuck, God forbid. However, later in the day i decided to send my passport attaching the email and dropped at empost. Now keeping my fingers crossed.

Also i suggest you to check on the above link whether any visa confirmation has been posted. I found message for empost representative from consulate to accept the documents. Is it always there or it is updated after AP.

I ll keep updating....

i ll be totally relieved once i receive my PPT back with visa stamped on it. Passport reached consulate today. I hope they release it today evening and tomorrow i should get it.

My interview date was 22 May 2013. Another thing i did was, i emailed US senator last thursday about my case. I dont know how far that helped. No harm in trying.....

Bro, we have to be patient for this AP, it is brutally frustrating. I have been following so many forums..there are certain people who waited close to 5 years n eventually AP cleared.

Normally AP wont be rejected unless you have serious criminal offence. One of the applicant who was with me on the day of interview, he got the visa even though he had theft charges against him. Consulate asked him to provide document that the charges are cleared. He did so and got the visa.

All this AP makes no sense to me. Is it solely processed at the Embassy or is it forwarded to DC and from there own to 3rd party agencies?

I've heard numerous stories, can't seem to get anything concrete.

As mentioned I've studied in the US,visited twice after graduation and also when I went into the embassy in Feb I already had a valid visa, and they didn't cancel it. So weird.

I already got my Canadian visa, took 1 month. Smooth.

On ceac website, my processing date changed to 22 Oct 2013. According to the others experience, date changes when consulate receive passport and next day it changes from AP to Issued. I personally observe this happening with other cases.

As expected, the status changed to 'Issued' at 1530 hrs. Hopefully they will dispatch the PPT around 1900 hrs to EMPOST when they visit to deliver PPT for freshly AP cleared cases.

Complete details will be posted after collection of passport.

Not more than couple of working days. Even i submitted on 20th October, today ceac status updated to Issued. Maximum by tomorrow it should update. Normally when passport is received, consulate update the date.....its all random no sure pattern

Based on my experience, calling DOS doesnt help as they have same info as on the CEAC website. As indicated on the visa, the clearance date is 15th Ocotober, but when i called DOS on 22 Oct they were still maintaining AP bullshit.

Anyways, what i could conclude is that there is no pattern to predict & no genuine agency with accurate information. Most of the process happens in the consulate as my first status update date (email for submission of ppt) was 20 Oct i.e sunday which is a working day in Dubai while US in deep weekend.

My advise is to hang-on and have alternate plans..... Next time apply 6 months in advance, minimum
