Administrative Process since 11 Feb, 2013 (Dubai)
Hi,
My interview was on 11 Feb, 2013 and I applied with my family. They approved my application and said my name will go to administrative processing whereas they will process visa for my family. Do i want to process theirs with my visa or they should process theirs now. So i said assuming mine should come in a week or so i said please go ahead process theirs. We got my family passport in next 3 days with visa.
However, mine is still in Administrative processing and sent numerous emails and all replies are standard.... I don't know how long more it will take and i need to travel in late November or early December for some business meetings.. anyone around the same date had success yet?
Btw - mine was renewal and last time when it went for administrative processing in 2006 it came back in 3 days.
thanks

Hi,
My interview date was on Feb.4 2013 and I am STILL in Administrative Processing. I also sent them numerous emails and their response was standard.
A relative of mine holding the same passport as mine went in for a interview on April 4th and he JUST got his AP finished a few days ago.
As you can see he applied AFTER me, which got me thinking since I applied for a visa when I already had a valid one in hand (expired May 15, 2013) that they wont process it until that visa expired.
My reason behind this? Simply, I have two friends who applied on Dec. 16, 2012 and January 22, 2013 and they BOTH had their AP finished right around 7 months + a week or two.
If you look at my relatives case he applied April 4th and got it a few days ago which is also right around 7 months.
My conclusion? They didn't start processing my visa until at least May 15 which means i 'should' be getting it 7 months from then, which is around December 15.
I also have a relative (again, same passport but first time ever applying for US visa) who applied at the very end of October with his wife and the embassy kept their passports and sent them right back in 3 days giving him 3 months visa and giving her 5 year visa.
Moreover, I have a friend who was rejected previously and he re-applied a few weeks ago and got a 5 year visa on the spot.
Im assuming some polices have changed at the embassy or maybe the staff has changed. All these applicants I mentioned are Arabs with Arabic passports.
At this point I could care less.
Hope this helps...

Well I think that's not the case because my visa expired last year and I've completed 9 months already today. I guess it's just a matter of time without any standard timelines. Over the web i couldn't understand the reason behind the such long timelines some require few months some require few days and some cases are like us where we do no have anything... anyhow... i guess nothing can be done but wait.... I see average AP timeframe at max is 7-10 months so let see.

US Visa Application B1/B2 visa
I have applied for a B1 visa in the US consulate general in Dubai in 24th October, and i was given a yellow paper AP. she didn't ask me lots of questions, only what is related to family and purpose of travel. The funny thing is she didn't even look to any of my paper or this square picture which i stayed almost a week preparing it. just she told there is something missing we need to put your application under processing.
I have traveled almost to half of the world and this is my first time to apply for US visa. i have almost 12 schingen visas in addition to Russia , UK,japan and Korea. I thought i will grant the US visa in 5 min but a month have passed and no updates.
I have a couple of questions, if i let our office in the US contact the consulate or even DOS , is that gonna help?
The other question is, she told me , may be we will call you for second interview, is that takes time?

But today I also checked Consular Electronic Application Center (US Department of State).
Case Creation Date: 04-Feb-2013
Status Updated Date: 24-Nov-2013 [this is the first time this gets updated, it was always 04-Feb-2013]
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

I have no clue what any of this means. And at this point, I really could care less for when this visa comes. 10 months is ridiculous.

Ya mine will also mark exactly 10 months on 11th Feb and yet there is no update... no change of date on status even.... I'm just in such a situation where i need to travel to Florida on 15th Dec for a business workshop which is very important for me to attend... and i've no news on visa...... God knows how long it will more take... as part of the job i've to travel frequently and this is putting a big limitation on my role... i tried calling DOS two days back and they said the same thing to just wait... nobody can expedite the process in any circumstances...
