Hello all, I am using Immihelp to range what everyone else is going through. I submitted an I-130 to sponsor my wife to come here. She is from Sweden and I am a US Citizen. We got our receipt of action I-797 and priority date of April 29, 2013. My questions are, A: how much longer should we expect to wait. B: are there any tricks or helpful tips we can do to speed the process up? C: what is the longest time you have heard of an I-130 taking? The national average is at 8.8 months to be processed . However that information is almost 2 months old now . There isn't any way to speed the process other then an expedite request . The one thing that will slow you down is when your not ready for when your approval comes . Research what you will need for NVC and prepare for it . With our case I made mocks ups of the next steps . To give me an idea what documents and forms we needed . When the time comes I will be prepared and save myself a lot time that will bring my wife here sooner . Each case is different and if one takes longer then the other you can't really judge it against yours . You do not know the circumstances of the cases . This is a really tough thing to be a part from your love one(s) , but you have to be strong and just have faith in the system . Just help to keep each other strong as the long time a part can be very stressful . That's what I do and my wife does the same . It really is a test of the relationship the distance and time a part from each other . Just think of that day at the airport when you meet . Awesome !
