  • AOS Time Frame

    Hell All,

I just paid my AOS Fee, but I will not be sending my AOS paperwork out for about two months, will this cause any problems? The reason I am waiting is because I am currently in Colombia and I will be moving back to the United States to start working in October and I want to wait until then to send out the AOS papers for obvious reasons. Will this cause any problems? How much time after you pay the AOS fee do you have to send the I-864?

Do you intend to be processed in the U.S. for your Green Card?
Or will you be processed through the NVC and interviewed at the Consulate in your home country?

Answes to your questions are dependent on the above responses.

After paying the $88 fee, you can go up to a year with your case at the NVC without any penalty or expiration.
