adoption by US resident - green card

I am a Canadian citizen.
I spent one year in USA: did my grade 10 there after I was legally adopted by my uncle. This was back in 1997. I was 15 years old.
My uncle has now passed away. At that time he was not a US citizen but only a perm resident.

Am I eligible to follow up on this to get a green card?

You can attempt to claim U.S. citizenship if the adoption resulted in a new birth certificate being issued as result of the adoption. At the time of the adoption, however, a Green Card adoptive parent would not have allowed you derivative U.S. citizenship, so attempting to claim U.S. citizenship may not fly.

The adoption wouldn't quality you for Permanent Resident status, as you would have to be petitioned by the adopting parent first, and before age 16.

My mention of citizenship was a suggestion that you explore U.S. citizeneship eligibility based on a reissued U.S. birth certificate, which often occurs after a legal adoption in the U.S.
