It's a fairly routine procedure to renew, and I wouldn't recommend an attorney unless you are aware of problems that might stand in the way of your renewal.

I came in 2007 in usa from India on f1 visa, I changed it to h1 in 2009 and I m without any status since 2012.
I have 2 kids born in usa and wife from India came in march of 2010.
