Hello all,
I am new to this forum and I was wondering if you could help me with a question I have regarding travel and change of status.
I am presently on a OPT visa that expires in the middle of July of this year, and am presently in the process of getting materials together for applying for a O1 visa. I hear it is not a great idea to travel outside the USA after a application for a change of status has been submitted, but is it bad to do this before a application has been submitted? I would like to go abroad from mid-April for 2 weeks, a couple of weeks after I get back I think my application would be ready to submit. Do you think leaving the country and applying a couple of weeks after re-entering the States would have negative effects on my application?
Looking forward to if anyone has any thoughts.
