  • American citizen and In-Laws.

My wife just sent in for adjusting her status to a permanent resident and according to the uscis she can not sponsor her family to get permanent residency status to stay here with us. Her parents are retired and would like to be closer to their daughter. And we would like to have her younger (19 years old) brother to be able to come here and stay with us to learn a trade and work with my company.
Can I as a us-citizen somehow get my mother, father brother-in-law some kind of visa with work permit (For the brother) or permanent residency status or something that lets the parents permanently come and go as they please. We would probably get them a house.
I suppose if the brother especially comes here with a normal visitor visa for a extended period of time and does work for me i can get penalized wich I dont want.

    Any suggestions helpful.

    Thanks.

Your wife needs to be US citizen first before being able to sponsor her parents. By the time, she is US citizen, her brother would be over 21. That means, she has to sponsor her in F4 category which requires the wait of around 13 years.

You can't sponsor your in-laws' green card.

Other than that, they would have to find some other way on their own to get a green card or visa to stay in US, not based on relations with you or your wife.
