  • Company Sponsored O1 and asked to signed contract

I am working in a company from August 2 2016, who offered me the job at April 23, 2016. The company sponsored my O1 VISA. At that time by email they asked me that they will sponsor the VISA if I agreed to work for 5 years. When I joined I signed a one line contract written in company watermarked paper telling I will be working there for 5 years. No other on behalf of company signed it and I have no copy of that paper. Now since my family is moving, I like to leave the job and be with them. My question is if there will be any legal problem for breaking the contract? I have EAD and I-485 approved as dependent of my husband who is a green card holder.

If your I 485 got approved and it was through your husband who is a permanent resident and that made you a permanent resident as well, then no there will be no immigration issues.
