Got a question on the sponsoring the spouse.

Wife has the green card , husband is on H1.

Is it possible for the wife to apply for GC for husband , so that he can get an EAD immediately.

She can apply for his immigrant visa but there is a wait of some years.
He will be able to get his green card and EAD only when his visa turn comes.

THe best thing is she should apply immediately for his immigrant visa.
He can keep working on his H-1 while he waits for his green card.

Does it make sense for him to apply the GC thru his employer also??

Have a look at the visa bulletin
http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/frv...etin_2847.html.

It tells you that your spouse category(F2A) is backlogged 4 years while employment categories (EB-2, EB-3) are also backlogged 4-5 years. So it does not make sense to go through the employer.

Does it make sense for him to apply the GC thru his employer also??
