Hi all, currently on a B2 visa in the states and have met up with some old colleagues whilst here and they have mentioned about coming to work over here.
If they offer me a job will a letter of employment be enough to allow a non-immigrant work visa? He job is a sales role.

On a separate note, they have offered to sponsor me but as they are not family do they have the ability to do this?

Karl,

You cannot legally work in the U.S. while on a B2 visa.

To sponsor you, prospective employers would have to handle employment-based visa or conversion paperwork, some of which would be dependent on job classifications, annual quotas, etc., and you would need a specialist with employment-based immigration procedures.

So to be a sponsor can a friend sponsor me to enter the us allowing me to work or does the sponsor need to be a family member?

You need an employer to petition and sponsor you for an employment-based visa.
