Hello:
Since I applied for OCI in lieu of PIO card (for my minor son), I moved and it is in match up process. I read from their website that CKGS can only be able to send documents back to the original address in the application (which is my former address). Then I called them to see what other options I have and they said that I shouldn't pick CKGS/Fedex courier and instead... I should send my stuff to their NY office thru either USPS or UPS and... they added that I include a return prepaid envelope for the documents to be sent back to me (that includes US passport and OCI - both original).
CKGS also has a note that says, something like 'we don't hold any responsibility if you choose to ship your documents with any carrier other than CKGS/Fedex' (paraphrase). This got me into thinking whether it is a good option to send my stuff using UPS or is it better to take a day off and visit NY center to pickup the documents when they are ready.
If you have any experiences (good or bad or different) with UPS or USPS, please share them here.
Thanks,
-Sachin
