Did I Accidentally Overstay My Visa?
Hello,
I am an 0-3 dependent and when my spouse applied for his new O-1 visa I applied for my new O-3 visa at the same time.
We applied very close to our expiration date, but now I understand we should have not waited so long.
Our applications were received before our current status expired and his was approved in just 2 weeks.
Mine, however, was returned for inaccurate funds. I made the money order for the wrong amount; too much, in fact.
The same day that I received notice of the incorrect payment, I corrected the problem and re-sent the returned application with the correct payment amount.
By the time I returned the application with the corrected payment my status was expired.
On my receipt my Received By Date is clearly after the expiration date of my visa.
Am I illegal now because of that clerical error?
