Hi All,
I need some help from someone whose been through the same process as mine. My company applied for my STEM extension while I was still in the Cap-Gap (they had already applied for my H1B but I hadn't gotten a rejection), but after my EAD expired technically. After a long wait it was rejected due to several reasons. So they filed for a motion to reopen (I-290B) and I was told it would take up to 2 months to get a decision.
Well its been 2 months and now the immigration firm they used claims the 2 month deadline was just an estimate, while USCIS claims it takes up to 6 months. Has anyone been through anything similar? If so can you give me an idea how long it took you and how long I should expect it to take?
I need to decide if I should start going home because I cant afford to stay any longer.
Cheers guys.
