Hello!
I am at loss of what to do.
I filed for an O1B at the end of May of 2018, my results came in at the end of January and the petition was approved. I scheduled an appointment with the embassy and it went rather horrible. The officer was very rude, she was asking me how I'm filing for an actress if I worked at the fudgery just 3 years ago (they have that on file), she also stated there are no files for her to view although my lawyer claimed any consulate can view my case file with my case number, she refused to let me finish my sentences and kept asking me why I haven't done anything in the past 6 months (how could I have if I waited for the results...). She was also asking me questions like who paid for my lawyer, how much it cost and whose idea was to file for this because this visa is for people who have achieved major things. It was a very bad experience. She then dismissed me and told me to come back when I'm "prepared".
Even if my lawyer told me I do not need to print out my case, I still did so, organized everything by colors and put in plastic folders each page. So when I went back after a week, she kept asking me questions outside of my case like if I'm part of a union in USA (which I can't if I was on OPT over there), if I have an agent, how much money I was making on my OPT etc. Even if my file is 130 pages, we barely talked about it. She then said she will keep my folder for 2 weeks and look through it and make her decision.
So I messaged the consular office after 2 weeks, had to message them 3 days later because I did not get a response and now they told me I need to wait for another 2 weeks as "they are still working on my case". I come from a small country and I'm not sure a lot of these visas get issued as the woman had no idea how the procedure works (she was asking me how I filed and where I heard about this visa) but I'm fairly certain this is NOT how things should be. I also have a slight feeling this is personal...
Hope you can help me.
Bets regards,
