    Hi

I am Lilian Low and I would like to know as to how I can extend the expiry date of my I-94 card.. I came to US on a K1 Visa and subsequently got married within the 3 months.. I have yet to fill my papers for change of status to permanent resident.. I also need to know if I require to apply for social security card as I am not working as yet.. I have tried to apply for the social security card but was told that my I-94 is about to expired which they required at least 2 weeks and mine is not acceptable because because it was with only 1 week till expiry..

I also need to know if I am require to apply for the advance parole Travel documents as I have intention to travel sometime in 2007 but do not know the date as yet.. If I were to apply for it, does it means it is valid for the whole year?

Appreciate if you can provide me with the answers to my questions.

    Thank you

    Warmest Regards
    Lilian

what i have heard from my attorney is ... as long as you have entered the US legally... you have the right to apply for Green card and all those things... if you are out of status for less than 180 days.. you will be given a document that will help you travel out of country if needed... else if its more than 180 days... you wont get this optional document... thats as far as i have heard.
I didnt know you need 2 weeks validity on your I-94... the highlighting clause was the 180 day thing... anyway wish u all the best.
