Canadian citizen without a degree -- what options do I have?
Hello,
I am a Canadian citizen currently residing in Canada. I have an offer from a U.S. company. I am a software developer by profession. I attended a 3 year Computer Engineering program in college, but did not complete it and therefore did not receive a diploma or any certificates. I have about 2 years worth of transcripts. I have about 5 years of software development experience in Canada.
Question: how can I work in the states? I see I do not qualify for H1B visa because I do not have a degree, same for TN visa. The only thing I can do is go on a J-1 visa for a max 18 months. Are there any other ways, like applying to University once in the states, or opening a software consulting business in Canada and doing business-to-business consulting in US?
