  • How long to return to the US with I-94W

    Hi

I'am French tourist and I have a I94W, I'am allowed to stay in the US for 90 days maximum, after I have to leave the country.

If I want to extend my stay as tourist in the US for more 90 days, can I exit through the Canada border for a couple of days, and return to the USA ?

    Thanks for your help.

If you do that, the border officer will send you right back to Canada. You CAN, it will NOT WORK.

And as you entered on the visa waiver program, you can't extend your stay either.

How long I've to wait out the US before to coming back

Thanks for your quick reply Mickey.

After staying in the US until the end of my allowed time of 90 days, how long I will have to stay in Canada before to be allowed to return back to the United States ?

There's no hard rule. Try to put yourself on the DHS officer at the port of entry. Here we have a 40ish guy, french national, who came and stayed in the US for 3 months, then went to Canada for X, and now he wants to come back into the US - without going back to France first.

It smells funny. It looks like you're bouncing back and forth between CAN and the US, maybe doing some temporary work here and there (which you're not allowed to) to maintain itself. Unless you can prove you're a world traveler, the only son of a very wealthy french family . . .

Honestly, I don't see this working. But hey, give it a shot if you feel lucky - worse can happen is to be sent back the way you came to CAN - and from there, having to go back to France . . .
