Schengen Or Hungarian Visa

I am currently studying in Hungary. I got Visa Type D, long term (one year) multiple entries back in September 2007. It is a Hungarian Vizum. Now, I want to go to Spain for holiday and heard that Hungary is now Schengen Area. Do I need to appy for Visa at the Spanish Embassy in Budapest? could I go to the airport with the Visa I have now? It will expires in July 2008

Hungary is part of Schengen area now.
